We’re looking for creatives to work on our posters, trailers, photography, and digital content
Do you want to work with actors like Cush Jumbo or Wendell Pierce? Or design artwork that will be displayed around London? We’re looking for creatives to work with on our shows and projects.
Who are we?
We make theatre! We are based on The Cut in Waterloo, London. Some recent(ish) shows you might have heard of are Death of a Salesman and Oklahoma!, and we’re also lucky to work with some incredible actors, such as David Harewood and Billie Piper.
What is this Open Call about?
Our Marketing and Audiences department want to increase the number of freelancers we are connected with, and to make our freelancer recruitment process as open and transparent as possible.
We actively encourage people from a variety of backgrounds with different experiences, skills and stories to join us and influence and develop our working practice. We are particularly keen to hear from Black or Global majority creatives and creatives who self-identify as disabled. The Young Vic is committed to equality of opportunity and submissions from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, caring responsibilities, disability, gender, gender identity, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.
What do we need from you?
We’re going to create a freelancer list that we can draw from when we are next creating marketing content. If you would like to be added to this pool, please fill out the submission form and send us your completed equal opportunities form* by 28th October.
We can offer support and resources to aid access requirements; please state any access requirements on your application.
* Filling in the Equal Opportunities monitoring form will help us to be as representative as possible, in the makeup of our creative teams. Our aim is to embrace diversity, ambition and excellence. To achieve this, it is useful for us to know a certain amount about who you are. Whatever you tell us will be confidential.
What will happen next?
We’ll confirm with everyone that we’ve received your submission. Then as different projects arise we will invite people to meet the team and discuss how to work together on these projects. We will pay travel and expenses for those creatives based outside of London. These meetings can be online (Zoom) or in person – whichever you are most comfortable with.
Roles we are looking for:
Designers (print, and digital animations)
Film-makers (filming and post-production)
We will be looking for creatives who have worked with models or artists from a range of backgrounds and lived experiences.
We’ve got four projects coming up in the next six months. These are the sorts of projects you would be working on:
Creating marketing assets for the Young Vic’s show campaigns, including artwork, photography and trailers
Creating digital content for the Young Vic's social channels, including short films, artwork and graphics
Our pay rates:
Our pay rates vary based on the commission and the project. But we will always tell you our budget for a commission if we approach you to work with us on a project.
