Creative workshops

Our creative workshops respond to the needs of our members and the industry and are led by our core team and external practitioners. Previous practitioners have included Sacha Wares, Hannah Khalil, Ned Bennett, Jaz Woodcock-Stewart and Atri Banerjee.

We encourage all members of the Creators Program Network to suggest ideas for workshops and events. These can be one off workshops or ongoing projects tailored to the needs of a specific group. They have included documenting live performance, introduction to podcasting, working with music and song in hybrid and digital theatre. If you would like to suggest a project, please contact us at creatorsprogram@youngvic.org.

Networking events

Meet the Creators Program Network (previously Meet the Genesis Network) is a series of events we run across the year that provides a space for the artists and theatre makers on our network to connect and socialise in a relaxed atmosphere without any pressure to formally present themselves or their work.

Research and Development

Throughout the year, we offer a day or half a day of R&D space to directors who have an idea/project at an early stage of development that needs a kick start. We contribute towards expenses for each practitioner taking part. We will advertise when space is available. Please do not contact us to request time or space outside of these opportunities .

Introduction to Making

Designed to address the lack of diversity amongst the theatre community, this scheme encourages early career makers from under-represented communities to consider making theatre as a viable career choice.

Fresh Direction

Fresh Direction is a professional development opportunity for members of the Creators Program Network to develop their multi-disciplinary careers and explore what type of artist/theatre maker they want to be. They’ll also be encouraged to think strategically about their career.

The program is developed in consultation with each year’s cohort, and include workshops on creative practice, career reflection, and goal setting. We sometimes work with partners such as Black Lives in Music and DivergentTalent Group.

Ticket schemes and Chat Backs

We offer a number of free tickets to all our shows and organise discussions around Young Vic productions. There is also the opportunity for members of the Creators Program Network to see productions on opening nights as a filler.
