The news that a government inspector is due to arrive in a small Russian town sends its bureaucrats into a panicked frenzy. A simple case of mistaken identity exposes the hypocrisy and corruption at the heart of the town in this biting moral satire.
Multiple Olivier Award winners Richard Jones (Annie Get Your Gun; The Good Soul of Szechuan; Anna Nicole) and David Harrower (Blackbird; Knives in Hens), Evening Standard Award-winning set designer Miriam Buether (Earthquakes in London; Sucker Punch) and Tony Award-nominated costume designer Nicky Gillibrand (Anna Nicole; Billy Elliot) team up for a new version of this classic comedy.
Featuring celebrated comic actors Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh) and Doon Mackichan (Smack the Pony), plus the ‘superb’ Kyle Soller (Daily Telegraph on The Glass Menagerie).
