We believe that now, more than ever, it is vital that emerging theatre makers have access to career development and support. Therefore, we are delighted that our associate company the Regional Theatre Young Directors Scheme (RTYDS) will be curating and delivering the program for emerging directors, producers, designers and artists whilst we temporarily reduce our key operations throughout June and July 2020.
RTYDS is an associate company at the Young Vic and provides professional development for potential, new, emerging and experienced theatre directors and theatre makers across the country and specifically for those who live and make work outside of London.
Young Vic and RTYDS know that for many directors online workshops have been a life line in these uncertain times - maintaining and developing skills, creating new contacts and networks, and providing a sense of connection to the wider industry.
RTYDS will programme digital discussion groups, workshops and support for directors from 1 June 2020, with some events specifically for directors and theatre makers living and working outside London.
The programme schedule will be shared on both the Young Vic Directors Program and RTYDS websites. You can still sign up to be a member of the Genesis Network, but you won’t need to be a member to access events at this time. You should be a professional director, designer or producer and not in full-time education.
