In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Olivier Award-winning producers of Fleabag and Baby Reindeer present Tim Crouch’s groundbreaking An Oak Tree, one of the most influential new plays of our time.

A father loses his daughter in a car accident. The driver of the car that killed her is a stage hypnotist. The two men meet for the first time when the father volunteers for the hypnotist’s act. What follows is a live theatrical experience like no other - a bold and absurdly comic story of loss, suggestion and the power of the mind.

At each performance, Tim Crouch will be joined by a different guest artist, who will have neither seen nor read a single word of the play - until they're in it. Guest artists will be revealed to audiences live on the night, the first of the Young Vic line-up to include Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Gangs of London), Michelle Terry (Tribes), Luke Thompson (Bridgerton), Russell Tovey (The History Boys) and Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), with more exciting names to be announced.

Since 2005, Tim has performed the play globally sharing the stage with performers including Frances McDormand, Geoffrey Rush, Sharon D Clarke, Alanis Morrisette, Sophie Okonedo, Peter Dinklage and Laurie Anderson.

“Nobody does it quite like Tim Crouch.” – The Independent
“Vividly celebrates the live, raw, communal experience of theatre.” – Financial Times

Please note - In line with previous performances of An Oak Tree, the identity of the second artist is only revealed live on stage when the show begins. We have a cast of 15 exceptional guest artists to make for an unforgettable experience whichever performance you see. We are unable to offer refunds if your preferred artist is not performing at the show you’ve booked for.
